Now that Bob Corker's vote has been bought by inserting a tax break for his Real Estate LLCs into the final bill, the Party of elevating poverty and abandoning hungry children is poised to make America preeminent in wealth disparity in the entire world.
“A UN rights expert has issued a damning report on the state of the US under Donald Trump, saying the Republican president's tax reform plan "stakes out America's bid to become the most unequal society in world" and "will greatly increase" income inequality.
Philip Alston, the UN special rapporteur on extreme poverty and rights, made the comments on Friday, after visiting US cities and states to examine the level of homelessness and poverty facing the country.
The proposed tax reform plan "is essentially a bid to make the US the world champion of extreme inequality", Alston said in his preliminary report.
According to Alston, "the lack of public debate, the closed nature of the negotiation, the exclusion of the representatives of almost half of the American people from the process and the inability of elected representatives to know any detail they are being asked to vote for, all raise major concerns".
Next week, for the first time in American History, major Tax Legislation will most likely pass through the House and Senate with no significant debate and on an entirely partisan vote.
And next year the House Speaker will craft legislation to shred the social safety net, legislation that he will not even defend in a re-election bid, when he leaves politics on hiatus to grift his way through the conservative rubber-chicken circuit to raise lucre for a future Presidential bid.
And the GOP, at last freed of meaningful opposition from the Democrats and leaders of it’s own party who have any care for the repercussions of their disastrous villeinage to the feudal lords of their donor class, will at last achieve their goal of shrugging off any remaining vestiges of social responsibility and common decency.
