Just days after contradicting Russian claims that it did not develop the nerve agent Novichok, Valdimir Uglev, a scientist who admits to working on the nonexistent program that produced the nerve agent that nearly killed ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury, England, has been struck by a car in his hometown on the Black Sea.

Business Insider

“A Russian scientist who developed the nerve agent used to poison ex-spy Sergei Skripal was hit by a car in Russia earlier this week, local media has reported.

Vladimir Uglev, who claimed to be one of the developers of the military-grade Novichok poison, told Russian news site The Bell he was struck while crossing a street near his home in southern Russia on Tuesday.

He was taken to hospital with injuries to his head, arm, and leg, and is recovering, The Moscow Times reported.

Uglev has identified an unnamed 70-year-old resident of the village as the perpetrator, and said he believed it was an accident, according to The Bell.”

Mmmm.... an accident…

One account I read has Uglev, who is seventy years old, jumping onto the hood of the car, James Bond like, to avoid being run over.

Pretty spry for a septuagenarian.

The “accident” might well be that he wasn’t killed.

As one wag on Twitter said….

”I heard the car that hit him fell from a balcony.”
