I watched most of the major speeches at today’s March For Our Lives, there were some fantastic ones and the young people who delivered them are to be admired and held in awe.
But one of the youngest, 11 year old Naomi Wadler, who spoke of the need to recognize and venerate the young people of color that are fed with all too much regularity into the gaping maw of the NRA’s desire for profits, impressed me the most.
With a poise and dignity far outstripping her small frame and and youthful demeanor, Naomi asked some questions that are as hard to answer for her allies as they are for her opponents.
“I represent the African-American women who are victims of gun violence, who are simply statistics instead of vibrant, beautiful girls full of potential.”
Thank you Naomi, for your courage and insight.
