Government shut downs are a bad business, and, with the Dow Jones teetering on the precipice, this particularly may not be a good time to refuse to fund the government.
And the argument that Chuck Schumer made, that Dreamers might accrue some of the blame for any bad effects resulting from shutting down the government, at a time when most Americans support them, resonates with me, as the American Public cannot even be trusted to not vote a craven idiot like drumpf into the White House.
All that said, I think leader Pelosi’s efforts to whip her caucus into voting against this bill should have a better result than 72 Democrats voting against her.
This large number of defections allowed the entire Freedumb caucus to take no responsibility for the Trump Stimulus and thus burnish their anti-deficit creds for the yokels back home.
