Grover Norquist, the famous anti-tax crusader, who has made his living lo these many years by soliciting contributions to his various organizations from equally stupid Republicans and libertarians, yesterday posted this tweet, which goes a long way in explaining just how venal, short-sighted and clueless he really is…
The thought (for lack of a better word) process behind this tweet is indefensible on so many levels it’s hard to know where to begin...but here goes.
First, Grover, what kind of shitty parent, who has the means at his disposal that you do, lets their child waste their allowance on a crappy instrument that will do more to hinder, rather than enhance, their desire to learn?
What kind of shitty parent bundles their child, starry eyed at the prospect of achieving a dream, into the car and takes them to K-Mart to buy a crappy guitar knowing full well that sales tax will be applied to the price and she will not have enough money to take it home - just so they can then wax all philosophic on the evils of gubmint?
For that matter, Grover, what kind of shitty parent uses his child’s disappointment and embarrassment in a public forum to advance an agenda of his own making?
