Tim Weiner winner of the Pulitzer Prize winning Reporter and the author of Legacy of Ashes: The History of the CIA, Enemies: A History of the FBI, and One Man Against the World: The Tragedy of Richard Nixon, began his interview tonight with Rachel Maddow with a block buster statement…
“Mike Flynn has fallen farther faster than any powerful official in any Government in the 20th Century, in America. We are watching, in real time, very quickly, a powerful counter intelligence investigation run by the FBI, with the assistance of the CIA and NSA that is targeting the top of this government.”
Later on he states the quote used in this diary’s title.
All in all it is a breathtaking interview. Kudos to Rachel.

Like I say I, like Rachel, don’t have a lot of faith in McCain. I’m sure many here doubt Comey even more.
But, like Rachel also, I’d like to sleep better at night.
Weiner certainly has some knowledge of the historical precedents.
We’ll see.
