A congressman from Wisconsin's Fifth Congressional District (Milwaukee's northern and western suburbs) since 1978, and former House Committee on the Judiciary Chairman, Sensenbrenner won’t stand for re-election next year, becoming the 411th (s/) Republican rat to jump ship.
“Longtime Republican U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, 76, is not going to run for re-election.
He is one of the longest-serving congressman and has represented Wisconsin's Fifth Congressional District since 1978.”
Sensenbrenner is 76, and Wisconsin’s 5th is the most Republican district in the state, so this is not exactly jump up and down good news.
Still one has to wonder if the obligation to represent this new face GOP figured in his decision.
